Currently in the world there are two main Systems of medicine in wide spread usage: Western medicine (as we know it in the West) and Oriental medicine (of which acupuncture is a major part). The term acupuncture derives its meaning from the Latin words acus meaning needle, and pungo or puncture meaning to puncture. It is a method of preventing, diagnosing, and treating disease and illness, by inserting special metal needles into the body at quite
